Hookstone Memorial Hall
Hookstone Memorial Hall is an iconic building in the beautiful Nidderdale AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) in the Yorkshire Dales.
Formerly the local school, HMH now operates as a charity and as a vibrant, thriving venue and occasional café situated just ten miles from the spa town of Harrogate and just a short hop from Ripon, Skipton, Ilkley, and Pateley Bridge.
The Hall is famous for its monthly “brunch” Saturdays when it is transformed into one of the friendliest and most mouth-watering eating places in the district.
We're situated in the midst of great walking country, lung-busting cycle routes, and some of the most fascinating historical sites including Fountain’s Abbey, Ripon, Ripley Castle, and the listed old packhorse bridge – one of the oldest in the country.
HMH is used regularly by the locals but the venue is also for hire – you can book it for meetings, dinners, courses, birthday parties, anniversaries, celebrations, wakes, and much more. It’s even been used as a theatre. Just use the bookings page to make enquiries.
It really is a wonderful place – we hope to see you there soon.
Coming to the Hall in November: Landmarks
A thought-provoking and amusing look at a farming family dealing with technological and cultural change in the 1930s - with very strong resonance with the issues we are facing today. Tickets £10 - see the News page.
The 2019 dates for our famous brunches are available on the Brunches page. If you have some time on one Saturday a month please volunteer for the Brunches: you for however long and however often suits you.
